Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information the WeTrip plugin for ChatGPT collects, why we use it, who receives it, how long we keep it, and how you can ask us to delete or correct it.

Who we are

The plugin is provided by WeTrip, a brand operated by Webuy Global Ltd and its subsidiaries ("WeTrip", "we", "us"). This policy applies to the plugin and to the pages on this site. You can reach us at contact@wetrip.global.

What this plugin does

You use the plugin inside ChatGPT. It can search WeTrip's multi-day China tours, show day-by-day itineraries and highlights, and, only after you have confirmed in the conversation, send a quote request to WeTrip's China travel consultants. The plugin does not book trips and does not take payments. See our Terms of Service.

Data we collect through the plugin

Searching and browsing tours. When you search for tours or open a tour, ChatGPT passes the plugin the details it needs, such as a city, a theme, a trip length or a budget range. We use these to answer your request. The plugin uses only what ChatGPT sends when it calls the plugin; it does not ask ChatGPT for your account details or your chat history.

Quote requests. If you ask for a tailor-made quote and confirm that you agree to be contacted, the plugin collects:

• your name
• your email address
• optionally, your WhatsApp number

together with your trip details:

• travel dates or month, or that your dates are flexible
• trip length in days
• the cities you want to visit
• who is travelling: the type of group, the number of adults and the number of children in age bands
• your hotel class preference
• a budget range per person
• any notes or special requests you add
• the tour you were looking at, if any

De-duplication and abuse prevention. To avoid sending the same request twice and to limit misuse, we keep one-way hash values derived from the email address and trip details of a request, and counters of recent requests. The hash values are not readable as an email address.

Technical logs. Our servers keep technical logs of plugin calls: which tool was called, search parameters with personal information removed, the number of results, how long the call took and whether an error occurred. The logs do not contain names, email addresses, WhatsApp numbers or the text of your notes.

These web pages. When you open these pages, our hosting provider processes standard connection data, such as your IP address, to deliver them. We do not use cookies for tracking, analytics or advertising on these pages, and the pages load no scripts, fonts or images from other sites.

What we do not collect. The plugin does not ask for, and we do not want to receive:

• government-issued ID numbers, such as passport numbers
• payment card or bank account details
• health information
• passwords or other credentials
• your precise location, such as GPS coordinates or a street address

Please do not type any of these into your notes or special requests.

How we use your data

• To answer your searches and show you tours and itineraries.
• To let WeTrip consultants review your quote request and contact you about it by email, and by WhatsApp if you chose that. We contact you about a request only after you confirm in the conversation that you agree to be contacted.
• To avoid duplicate requests and to limit repeated or automated misuse of the plugin.
• To keep the plugin secure and working, for example by finding and fixing errors and monitoring performance, using the technical logs.

Who receives your data

• WeTrip consultants receive the quote request details (name, email address, optional WhatsApp number and trip details) through WeTrip's customer enquiry system. WeTrip's subsidiaries, and the service providers that help WeTrip run its enquiry and messaging systems, may process these details on WeTrip's behalf.
• Cloudflare hosts the plugin's server and the small store used for duplicate checks. It acts as a hosting provider and processes data on our behalf.
• OpenAI operates ChatGPT, the platform where you use the plugin. What you type in ChatGPT, and what the plugin returns to you, is handled by OpenAI under its own terms and privacy policy, not under this one.
• We may disclose information when the law requires it.

Because Cloudflare serves requests from data centres in many countries, and because WeTrip, its subsidiaries, its service providers and OpenAI may work from other countries, your information may be processed outside the country where you live.

How long we keep your data

• Quote requests are kept in WeTrip's customer records for as long as needed to handle your enquiry. Retention period: [retention period to be confirmed by Catherine].
• De-duplication hash values and request counters are kept for 24 hours and then expire.
• Server logs are kept for up to 30 days.
• Your conversation in ChatGPT is kept by OpenAI according to OpenAI's own policy.

Your choices

You can ask us to delete or correct the personal information you submitted through the plugin, or to stop contacting you, by emailing contact@wetrip.global. Please tell us the name and email address you used so that we can find your request. We may need to check that the request comes from you. We will delete the request from WeTrip's customer records unless we are legally required to keep it.

To manage or delete your conversations in ChatGPT, use the controls that OpenAI provides; we cannot do that for you. Depending on where you live, local law may give you additional rights. Contact us if you would like to use them.

Children

The plugin is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. When you ask for a quote, the plugin asks only how many children are travelling, in age bands, and not their names or other details. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email contact@wetrip.global and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the bottom of this page shows when it was last updated.
